HKC Mission Statement
Sustainable Westford’s Healthy Kids Coalition (HKC) partners with the town’s Health Department and School District, as well as other organizations, to fulfill their mission to:
– engage the community in supporting positive efforts toward overall wellness through healthier and “cleaner” food options and through de-stressing with exercise, sleep and fun.
Every month HKC meets to discuss goals, progress and new initiatives. The meetings are open to the community — in particular, moms and dads who have children in the Westford public school system. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month and are posted online in the calendar section of the website. You can also obtain information in the summer at the Healthy Kids Coalition table at the Farmers Market Tent!
We meet at the JV Fletcher Library (50 Main Street) @ 7:00pm in the Main Meeting Room and our meetings are posted on the Sustainable Westford Event Calendar.
“The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest and air
And exercise and diet.
These six will gladly cure your ills
If only you are willing
Your mind they’ll ease
Your will they’ll mend
And charge you not a shilling.”
